The Bridgerton Immersive Experience
Acting Coach
As an acting expert for the "A Bridgerton Immersive Experience," I had the privilege of coaching over 80 performers in four cities to create more authentic and engaging performances.
Many of the performers came from a dance or musical background, with little to no acting training. Part of the Netflix and Fever mission of the Bridgerton Experience was to help fans of the show feel as if they were transported inside the world of Shondaland and Netflix's Bridgerton.
Without performer emotional connection, audience members were less engaged. My role was to support the Artistic Director in shaping, guiding, translating, and honing the emotionality, attention, and energy of the performers, helping them discover their character backstories to root the performance, and inspire fresh performances night after night. We wanted to illustrate the arcs of the story– creating powerful moments accentuating the choreography, maintaining artistic integrity, and bringing the characters to life for participants and fans of the show.
Collaborating closely with the creative team, I provided group and individualized coaching, developed exercises that fostered intimacy and emotional connection, taught vocal projection and resonance, trained for RP British accent, coached energy management techniques, and adapted to changing needs, timelines, resources and directives, ultimately resulting in increased positive audience feedback and heightened engagement. The Queen's Ball: A Bridgerton Immersive Experience was voted best immersive experience by BizBash.
